When may I apply for a scholarship?

Available scholarships will have applications available after the 1st of January.

Applications will be available on the Foundation’s website and at applicable schools.  You may also send  a request to melissa@threeriversfoundation.com or Three Rivers Area Community Foundation, P.O. Box 453, Three Rivers, MI 49093.

Where do I submit a scholarship application?

All applications must either be mailed to Three Rivers Area Community Foundation, P.O. Box 453, Three Rivers, MI 49093 and postmarked by the application deadline or emailed to melissa@threeriversfoundation.com by the application deadline.

How much does each scholarship award?

The amount of each scholarship will be listed in the information section of the eligibility requirements, deadlines and instructions.

What expenses will my scholarship cover?

Scholarships available through the Foundation are intended to support educational tuition, books and fees.  Scholarship funds used to cover on campus room and board may be taxable.  Please consult your professional advisor for more information.

What is the process for selecting a scholarship recipient?

The Three Rivers Area Community Foundation selection committees will review all eligible applications based on the criteria established by the donor(s) of the scholarship fund.  The selection committee will recommend applications to the Foundation Board of Trustees which approves all scholarship  awards.

How and when will I be notified?

All applicants will be notified mid-May via mail stating whether or not they have been selected as a recipient.  Scholarship recipients will also be posted on the Foundation’s website.

How and when will the scholarship check be sent?

All recipients will be required to complete a scholarship acceptance form stating where they will be attending and applicable contact information. Checks are typically sent after July 31st for the fall semester and January 31st  for the winter/spring semester.  All checks are made out in the name of the educational institution and mailed directly to the school.
